Hi there, I'm Nyx Barrow, lead singer and lead guitarist of Pandemic! We've been around for about three years now and just got signed a year and a half ago, now I know what's probably going through your mind 'oh you can't be famous yet Nyx, your new to the scene' actually, no. When I moved from Dublin, Ireland to Portland, Oregon I met my bandmates when I was sixteen years old. Pandemic wasn't really on our minds so we just hung out and smoked cigarettes and watched movies. When I was seventeen we put together the band and started playing local shows in Portland, and developed a decent fan base there. Came to Los Angeles, played a few shows, almost lost hope and them BAM! got signed by Motley Records after one of the boys came to see us play. Happiest day of our lives.
Anyways a little history on me while I'm at it, I was born and raised in Dublin until I was about fifteen/sixteen then we jumped ship to America. Ireland is the most beautiful place in the world, I love it with all my heart and soul, and I miss it terribly. I dropped out of highschool, bought a guitar and it kind of went from there. I guess when I was asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, I said I wanted to be a model, but screw that, I'm not going to force myself to be skinny as a rail to walk down a runway. Besides, I'm not tall enough anyways. I met the boys when the four of us snuck in to Tin Lizzies to see our favorite punk band play, and we sort of talked, and then...well...we ended up becoming really good friends.
I really hope that things go well here in LA, besides, I've got family and friends halfway across the world that I had promised that I would make it as a rockstar, and now that I am, it kind of feels surreal. oh well. Los Angeles, get ready for us because we'll knock your socks off, haha!
